Gods of Egypt

Seen the Gods of Egypt flick. I’d have to say it’s flow was a little “cartoony?”
Not to say the CGI was… All effects were perfect. Love Gerard Butler & Geoffrey Rush!! I really enjoyed and would say I would buy it. It’s fun and tons of eye candy. #godsofegypt #godsofegyptmovie

The VVITCH

Was excited to see this. Was hoping it was what they said. “A new classic.” I was definitely captivated by this film and stunned throughout – although slow moving. Not a show for young people. There is quite the horror pay off at the end. Hard to understand as they talked in real old time New England style speech. I usually gauge how good a film is – if I would buy it and watch it multiple times. I would definitely watch it again out of morbid curiosity and good film making. But maybe not 3x because it seems to illustrate a “real evil” verse any other horror flick I’ve seen. There is a good history lesson baked into this. ‪#‎thewitch‬

Get the Gringo

Mel, Mel, Mel…

I love you man… You always bring the hot sauce dude… From Mad Max, Lethal Weapon, Brave Heart, The Patriot,  & Apocalypto… You make the movies that bring the meat and potatoes and then the desert… ha

This movie I wouldn’t say was a BUYER, but definitely a Red Box! I would really recommend seeing it if you are a Mel Gibson fan and or a prison movie fan…

Personally I was WAY into prison break, and this movie has a little of that seasoning…

Point Break + Prison Break + Street Tacos = Get the Gringo

The Intruders

Been a Clive Owen fan ever since Sin City. I think I have watched that movie like 20 times…

Seen Clive in this – Looked like a B movie, but it WAS Clive…

This movie reallly surprised me… I thought it would be okayyy, but as a Horror fan I seen some NEW stuff I wasn’t expecting. Namely a new character with a fairly unique concept and super cool name. I cant tell you what it is, or it gives away a bit of the plot… We have a bit of the flavor of Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark, and I really couldn’t tell you which one I liked better because they were both engaging, interesting and scary… This movie had something in it although I haven’t really seen in hardly any scary movies, which was “the confrontation.” I have never seen a flick where the child just BEGS for the parent to please believe them and Clive does and confronts… Very freaking cool…

If you’ve burnt through all the movie house latest & greatest, give this one a whirrr!

The Dark Knight Rises

I don’t know a lot about Christopher Nolan… but WOW!

His Batman series has become in my mind as valuable and great as the Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Indiana Jones, The Godfather and The Matrix productions. I have seen a lot of Horror movies in my life, and I have never been disturbed by a super villain like I have Bane – EVER!! I left the theatre looking over my shoulder for hours. It was a very queer sensation. Yes folks – I was a little spooked… very strange. My take is part of the reason Bane had such a unique stage presence is he was “hybrid of power.” He had the hulking mass of a giant muscle psycho, but the voice of a very disturbed genius professor… Muffled although it might have been. His Sociopath-ness was extremely believable. I have to admit his evil was a little seductive… I found my mind not sure of which character I liked more. I had this same feeling with the Joker from the flick before. Christian Bale is definitely the best Batman of all time…

I also liked how Bruce Wayne had a bit more frailty in this movie… He wasn’t oozing Billionaire playboy-ability, which made it more believable… Left you torn on what he should do, as he was in the movie. I can’t wait to see it a 2nd time… I think there are portions you will not get entirely until a 2nd viewing… Loved it!!

In other news “Inception,” also directed by Christopher Nolan was completely amazing! I do not remember ever seeing anyone capture dream states so vividly and real until I seen this movie. I am so pleased he put this movie together cause it actually helps you understand and focus on how the human mind engineers dreams and virtual reality a bit better…

Machine Gun Preacher

When I rented this movie, it was mostly cause Gerard Butler is a “guys guy.” One of the actors who knows how to deliver a major payoff in his flicks. I didn’t realize what I was in for emotionally when I started this. Not going do any spoliers here but this is based off a true story, and an AMAZING one at that. I will say I rarely shed a tear in movies, but this one has me bawling through about the 2nd half. Seems like a sleeper, but this movie is a MUST SEE. It will be a game changer in how you view the world. I loved watching the ability of a person swing from a such a low place in life to a Godly one. Just goes to show anyone can change at anytime, and only God knows your heart. Please check it out – you won’t regret it.
